Adam Azim won’t be out of the ring very long.

The 22-year-old junior welterweight prospect just knocked out Ohara Davies on October 19, bringing Azim, a resident of Slough, England, to 12-0 (9 KOs).

He’ll go for his 13th victory in January, according to promoter Ben Shalom of BOXXER, speaking during a meeting of the ratings committee at the sanctioning body’s convention in Puerto Rico.

Shalom did not name an opponent.

Davies, 25-4 (18 KOs), is a longtime friend of Azim’s but also represented a more established name whom Azim could take on in a crossroads bout.

Davies, a 32 year old from London, turned pro in 2014 and was on the rise until 2017. That’s when he ran into Josh Taylor, who stopped Davies in the seventh round. In 2018, Davies suffered another loss, this one via unanimous decision against Jack Catterall. Seven victories followed. But in January, Davies was downed twice and put away in less than two minutes by Ismael Barroso.

Azim’s other appearance in 2024 was in February, when he defeated the 14-0 Enock Poulsen via fifth-round knockout. Poulsen suffered an injured shoulder and took the 10-count, according to BoxRec.
