Toro Promotions, Inc. launched its new pro boxing series, “The Heartbeat of LA Boxing”, with great success last night at Pacific Palms Resort. Undefeated Tsotne “Mr. T” Rogova (10-0, 7 KOs) clinched the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) U.S. heavyweight title, headlining an event that featured six pro debuts, including celebrated Walnut (CA) High School senior Paolo “Pow” Barredo.

“This was surely Southern California boxing at its finest,” said Toro promoter Azat Torosyan following the bouts. “You have to go see a lot of shows to find one as good as tonight’s.”

In the co-main event, Rogova faced a tough challenge from Alexander “The Great” Flores (19-5-1, 17 KOs), earning a unanimous 10-round decision in an action-packed affair. Rogova, a 2020 Ukraine Olympian, dominated early with a second-round knockdown of Flores, who rallied in the middle rounds before Rogova regained control.

Barredo, celebrating his 18th birthday last week, took on featherweight Mychaquell “Myche” Shields (2-6), flooring him in the third round and securing a fourth-round stoppage. Barredo, a 2021 Junior Olympics Champion, impressed in his professional debut.

Another standout debut came from La Puente’s Alexandro “El Capitan” Alvarado (1-0, 1 KO), who defeated Eduardo Mondragon “El Azteca” Lopez in the lightweight division. Alvarado, a 2021 California State Silver Gloves silver medalist, showcased his potential with a third-round stoppage.

In other results, junior welterweight Sonny “The Bear” Robledo (10-0, 3 KOs) maintained his undefeated record with a dominant six-round unanimous decision over Matt Gaver (3-10-2, 1 KO), while Hector Oros (1-0) rebounded from an early knockdown to edge Alexander Robles (0-1) in a close four-round unanimous decision at junior bantamweight.

Riverside’s Oscar Trujillo Enriquez (1-0, 1 KO) made a memorable pro debut by knocking out Jesse “Suavecito” Zuniga (0-1) in the second round with a devastating body shot. The action-packed evening concluded with Santa Ana’s Michael “Chamuco” Bracamontes (10-2-1, 5 KOs) narrowly defeating Arsen Poghosyan (3-3-1, 2 KOs) of Los Angeles by majority decision in a competitive junior lightweight bout.

The event kicked off with Mongolian flyweight Enkhmandakh “Machine Gun Magi” Khurkuu (4-0, 1 KO) scoring a first-round knockout victory over Richard Morales (1-8, 0 KOs) of Westminster, CO.
