Sauerland Event have announced that IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez (29-1, 14KOs) will not defend his title as scheduled on July 25th against mandatory challenger Victor Emilio Ramirez (22-2, 17 KOs) of Argentina.

The exact reason was not revealed, but sources indicate that Ramirez requested a change in date - a request which Sauerland granted - and the fight has been pushed back to a yet to be finalized date in September.

Hernandez was hard in training and ready to fight in two weeks, and will likely take precautions to avoid overtraining in camp.

The location will likely remain the same, with the fight being Hernandez's first outside of Germany as he faces the challenger in his backyard of Buenos Aires.

The fight is the first for Hernandez since the twelve round split decision win over Firat Arslan last August. Hernandez has been averaging one fight per year since 2013 - due to injuries and illnesses. He hopes to pick up his activity in 2015.

Ramirez became the mandatory challenger after winning the interim title with a twelve round unanimous decision over very durable Ola Afolabi in April of this year. He also held the IBF Latino title at the weight and has remained unbeaten since a 2009 decision loss to current WBO champion Marco Huck.
