Veteran featherweights Oleg Yefimovich (26-2) and Rudy Encarnacion (35-23-4) clash for the vacant EBU title December 5 in Kiev (Ukraine). There were purse bids set, expiring November 12, but the parties involved have already reached an agreement.

Encarnacion was first set to fight Sofiane Takoucht in the spring for the vacant title but then he was forced to pull out.

Alex Miskirtchian then became the co-challenger but got injured and now Takoucht re-entered the picture and Encarnacion vs Takoucht was all set for July 24 but was cancelled due to financial reasons. There were attempts made to make the fight in Belgium but then Takoucht was forced out due to serious family problems.

Yefimovich held the EBU title 2008-10 but have only fought once a year since 2012.
