Coldwell Boxing’s March 8th show at Manchester’s Bowlers venue has received a significant boost this week after a number of high-quality bouts were added to the show. Already featuring the return of local favourite, Craig Watson, and the intriguing Northwest derby between home fighter, Hosea Burton, and Liverpool’s Carl Dilks, Dave Coldwell has been working tirelessly to add even more interest to the event and his industry has been rewarded.

Curtis Woodhouse’s English title defence against Shayne Singleton, originally scheduled for February 22nd, has been added to this card following a minor hand injury to the former and will now serve as main event. Providing chief support will be a battle of Greater Manchester welterweights as former British champion, David Barnes, makes his long awaited return from injury when he faces the undefeated Rick Godding in a fascinating crossroads clash. Coldwell is anticipating action of the highest order.

“The week got off to bad start with the news of Curtis’ injury but everyone has worked hard to make the best out of a bad situation and we’re over the moon with the end result. This is a show that is going to be filled with 50-50 fights from top to bottom and I’m certain that every fight has the potential to deliver. It’s good to be getting along with other promoters in this game because that is how the best fights are made. Steve Wood is the promoter of Carl Dilks, Rick Godding and Shayne Singleton so I’m sure there will be some banter between me and Steve during the build-up. I know my guys are hungry and I expect the same from Steve’s fighters so it really promises to be an explosive show.”

Coldwell added, “This is an event that I know Manchester will come out and support because there’s a lot of local interest on the show and they’re all going to be involved in fantastic scraps. Barnes v Godding is a fight that has it all and the winner of it will be in a great position to push on and challenge for titles later in the year. I’ve had the pleasure of putting on some great shows at the Bowlers and I know how loud the atmosphere can get in there but I’m expecting that to reach new levels on March 8th.”

War of the Roses featuring Curtis Woodhouse v Shayne Singleton, David Barnes v Rick Godding, Hosea Burton v Carl Dilks, and a stellar undercard including Craig Watson, Liam Conroy and Liam Hanrahan takes place on March 8th at Manchester Bowlers. Tickets can be purchased at WWW.COLDWELLBOXING.COM
