Mexico’s Edgar Sosa who’ll be fighting WBC flyweight Champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in Thailand on October 24th, says he’s fresher than the champion, and this is going to be a decisive factor.

Edgar who’s going to undergo altitude training, possibly at the Otomi Center near Toluca, told BoxingScene.com - “Pongsaklek has a lot of experience through lots of fights. But physically, he’s the fighter who’s more spent from the sheer number of these bouts. He’s been hit more and has picked up more wear and tear. This is going to be a factor in my favor.

“The pressure is also on him. He’s fighting at home and a great deal is expected of him. I’ve reached a point of maturity in my career, which I will use to go to his backyard and win the championship. I’m 1000% determined.

“I’m going to show resolve like I did in the Brian Viloria in San Antonio, when I won the WBC light flyweight title. I also feel physically very, very strong at flyweight.”

Edgar explained that he’s going to put in two months of physical, technical and tactical preparation to take on Pongsaklek.

On the receiving end of more than his unfair share of rough tactics including cheek fracturing headbutts, Edgar also says he hopes a referee of the highest quality and great experience will be appointed for this fight.

Edgar’s promoter Dr. Fausto Daniel Garcia said - “Pongsaklek has a lot of experience and it’s a difficult fight because he’s at home. But the quality of Edgar’s boxing is superlative  and he’s very disciplined about his preparations. I’m very confident he’ll go to Thailand and win his second world title.”
