Sanjeev Singh Sahota will box in India next month.

The 24-year-old has raced to 2-0 since joining Frank Warren in February and looks set to make a return to his birth country in just under four weeks’ time.

Sahota, who has one early finish on his ledger to date, is scheduled to fight again on July 16, as part of the ‘Return Of The Singh’ promotion, which Queensberry Promotions are hosting in association with IOS Sports and Entertainment.

He will leave his Hornchurch base for the first time, having made his debut on April 30 and then advanced his record further on June 9, to fight over four rounds on the same bill as his fellow countryman, Vijender Singh, who faces Kerry Hope for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super-middleweight title at the Thyagraj Sports Complex in Delhi.

Sahota’s appearance on the bill will be in one of the five supporting contests to the main event, with two four-rounders, two six-rounders and an eight-round clash set to accompany Singh vs. Hope at the 5694-capacity stadium, which was built as a venue for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The man who walks away with the WBO Asia Pacific crown in the main event will be handed a top-15 spot in the Boxing Organisation’s rankings at 168lbs.
