Former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (32-6-3, 25 KOs) is eager to get himself back in line for another world title shot.

Ortiz fought to a draw with fellow world champion Devon Alexander Back in February.

On September 30th, Ortiz will step in the ring with the always dangerous former title challenger John Molina (30-7, 24 KOs) at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. The bout headlines a Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 card.

Ortiz is 3-4-1 in his last eight ring outings.

Ortiz states that he suffered an injury early on against Alexander and now he's in perfect health.

A loss to Molina would certainly be the final nail in the coffin of his pro career.

"I had a broken eye socket from an injury in the second round of the Alexander fight, but I'm feeling 100 percent now. I'm ready to take what is rightfully mine, and that's another world title down the road," Ortiz said.

As far as Molina, Ortiz is expecting a tough fight with fireworks from the first bell.

Molina is 4-4 in his last eight bouts and is coming off a knockout victory over Ivan Redkach from back in December of 2017.

"We've known each other a long time and we're both always in exciting battles, so fans should expect nothing less on September 30," said Ortiz. "It's going to be a war from round one and I can't wait."

Promoter Tom Brown of TGB is also anticipating a war between Ortiz and Molina.

"This is a true crossroads battle between two hardnosed veterans who have fought almost every welterweight of note in the last decade,'' said Brown.

"The one thing you can be certain of when you get Victor Ortiz and John Molina Jr. in the ring is that a fight will break out. This match should be highly entertaining for the fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena and those who tune in on FS1 and FOX Deportes on September 30.''
