Just as it was postponed twice before, the Vernon Paris-Cleotis "Mookie" Pendarvis bout scheduled for Friday is a no-go.

Only this time, the fight will not be rescheduled.

Instead, two six round bouts featuring prospects will take place.

Super middleweights Jose Hernandez and Mike Guy will square off in the main event. Each fighter has an identical record of 6-1-1, with 3 knockouts.

In the other six round bout, middleweight John Hays (4-1-3) will face unbeaten Aaron Coley (8-0, 5 KOs).

The bouts will take place at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello, CA and will top a nine-bout "Battle of the Rising Stars" card that will be presented by All Star Boxing Promotions.

Pendarvis was scheduled to defend his USBA title on Friday night. The fight fell through as reports surfaced Pendarvis was not in the gym as often as he should have, thus making it difficult to make weight.

The IBF/ USBA reportedly stripped Pendarvis of the title.

Also on Friday's card will be a four round bout between heavyweights Keela Byars and Bridgette Davis. Not only will both fighters be making their professional debut, but their bout will be associated with the Guinness Book of World Records.

Byars will be the first female fighter to fight above the age of 50, while Davis will reportedly be the first female fighter to weigh over 300 pounds for a bout.

Tickets are still on sale and start at $50. Doors open at 6:15PM, with first bell scheduled for 7:30PM.

The Quiet Cannon is located at 901 Via San Clemente in Montebello, just off Garfield Avenue and south of Interstate 10.
