The chances of David Haye fighting Vitali Klitschko for the WBC Heavyweight Title are less than slim and next to none.

The imposing yet normally genial giant visibly bristled at the WBC Convention in the Grand Oasis Hotel in Cancun, when Haye's name was mentioned saying:"David Haye doesn't want to fight me. He's a liar!

"We sent him a contract to fight me in Moscow, but he went and fought Chisora. And after that fight, he's trying to sell himself! He says he wants to fight me and it's not true. He's had his chance to fight me many times but he didn't accept our contract. I don't want to talk about him!"

Vitali remained coy about how much longer he'll continue boxing conceding: "It's no secret. I'm not the youngest one. I'm the oldest active champion at forty one. I still have power, and I still have good reactions, technique and skills. But I can't go on forever."

When asked when he might retire, Vitali repeated his answer of late: "Soon, but I'm not yet ready to say exactly the time when."

Turning to politics which he's becoming increasingly involved with, Vitali said Ukraine is geographically European with a European mentality to match, but the standard of living there doesn't. He said to improve this is his avowed aim, expaining: "It is possible. Many people want it. It is very important to take responsibility, work and make the changes."
