The fight of Vyacheslav Uzelkov (27-2, 16 KOs) and WBO light heavyweight Nathan Cleverly (24-0, 11 KOs) has been scheduled for October 27, 2012. However, that battle never happened as it is became known that Cleverly planned encounter with Ryan Coyne (21-0, 9 KOs) at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on November 10th.

All this time Uzelkov was preparing for a fight in his native Vinnitsya, Ukraine. Cancellation of the fight was a complete surprise for Vyacheslav and his promoters. Team Uzelkov has not received any official information from Frank Warren Promotions, and learned it from the media.

"We learned from the media about the cancellation, we were not officially informed about it. But I'm sure that the main reason of cancellation is the concern about the result of the battle. Slava began training in early September. Last week one of his sparing partners Britain's Danny McIntosh left the training camp. For Uzelkov it would be the last chance to prove his worth in the ring and I'm sure he would have used it for 100%, "- commented K2 Promotions CEO Alexander Krassyuk.

"I am outraged by the whole situation with this fight against Cleverly. I do not blame him personally, but his promoters behaved extremely unprofessional. I thoroughly prepared for a fight, have been training for several weeks already. I am in a very good shape. We have studied videos of Cleverly fights, and I was fully confident of my victory! The only explanation for this situation is that Cleverly team just scared that I would knock him out!" - Vyacheslav Uzelkov said.
