The rocky private life of Manchester legend Ricky Hatton is catching up with his career as a boxing promoter.

Belfast’s Upton Brothers have announced that they are breaking away from Ricky Hatton's promotional banner.

Junior middleweights Sonny and Pauly Upton and and junior welterweight Anto Upton are going in their own direction. The three boxers are managed by MGM in the UK.

The Uptons announced - “It has been a great experience and for the best part it’s been a pleasure working with Ricky and his team. But due to his turbulent private life, and his inability to commit 100% to the bhoys training, they have mutually agreed to part company. We wish him and his family all the best.”

Earlier this month, Hatton has sparked concerns for his health after he posted a message saying "I have nothing left, absolutely nothing" on Twitter.

At that time, the 37-year-old was reportedly partying hard in Irish bars on the island of Tenerife. His friends were worried that Hatton was struggling to cope after breaking up with fiancee Jennifer Dooley.

There was so much concern that a spokesman for Hatton issued a statement to worried fans: "Ricky Hatton would like to confirm he is ok. He is aware that a late tweet worried a lot of people and he thanks everyone for their concern. He would however ask the media to respect his and his family's privacy."
