Los Mochis, Sinaloa - The flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA),  Mexico's Hernan "Tyson" Marquez, is performing very well in training camp. This past weekend he went a full twelve rounds rounds in camp, and displayed great physical condition, power, speed and endurance.

Under the watchful eye of his trainer and mentor, Manuel Montiel, "Tyson" Marquez had twelve straight rounds of sparring under a good pace with such boxers as Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel, super flyweight world champion Hugo Cazares and solid prospects David "Tornado" Sanchez and Mario Villela. Both Sanchez and Villela are also taking part on the July 2 card in the Multipurpose Center in Hermosillo.

"Tyson" Marquez  (30-2-0, 23 KOs) will defend his title for the first time against Philippines boxer Edrin "The Sting" Dapudong (22-3-0, 13 KOs) in the main event of a card called  "Mexico vs Philippines" which is promoted by Zanfer and will be broadcast by TV Azteca.

"I felt great, I'm well prepared and feel better than when I was crowned in Panama (in April by knocking out Luis Concepción) and I'm ready for war. I know that fights between Mexicans and Filipinos are always very hard and he will come with everything to try to take my belt, which I will not allow that to happen," the pride of Sonora.

"It's motivating to train with great champions like Fernando Montiel and Hugo Cazares, who have helped me a lot and I've helped them and I really admire them."
