Team Sauerland, who promote WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Tyron Zeuge (20-0-1, 11 KOs), announced that a deal was finalized for their man to defend the title against Paul Smith (38-6, 22 KOs) on June 17th in Wetzlar (by Frankfurt).

This will be Smith's third opportunity to gain a world title. The 34-year-old boxer had back-to-back defeats to WBO champion Arthur Abraham in 2014 and 2015.

Smith has won three fights in a row since suffering a stoppage loss to Andre Ward in 2015. The fight with Zeuge was being negotiated for several months. Zeuge retained his title in March with a technical decision victory over Isaac Ekpo.

IN OTHER NEWS: Anthony Fowler will make his professional bow on May 27th on the undercard of Kell Brook's world title defence against Errol Spence. The Liverpool light-middleweight has been specific in addressing his needs for his paid adventure and after long deliberations, it will be Eddie Hearn's Matchroom guiding his career with Dave Coldwell, trainer of Fowler's South Liverpool colleague, Tony Bellew's, handling coaching responsibilities. The Sheffield based mentor is relishing the task.

"Its going to be good bringing someone through from the beginning of their career and thats the part of the challenge that excites me," revealed Coldwell.

"He's had a stellar amateur career fighting all over the world beating really good kids and he's won medals at some very demanding tournaments. Hes been under the same tutelage for a long, long time so there's a few things that I need to adjust for when he's in the professional ring and he's responding to everything I've asked of him so far. His jab has improved already and he's doing the things I'm asking of him in sparring. He's on track so far and I'm excited for what lies ahead."

Coldwell added, "His first fight is on a huge bill and it's going to be a little taster for him about what boxing at the highest level involves. He's setting himself some huge targets and that's the ambition he needs to have because when it all comes together for him then I think he's going to be a quality fighter with some big nights ahead of him. I've told him what is expected of him in my gym and there's fighters here that he looks up to so everything is in place for him to be whatever he wants. As long as he listens and does what I ask then he can be really successful. There's work to be fine if he's to get to the top but I'm confident he has the attitude to do it."
