BoxingScene.com has been informed that a final cruiserweight eliminator has been ordered by the IBF. Troy Ross (24-2, 16KOs), ranked at #3, and Garrett Wilson (10-5-1, 4KOs) ranked at #12, were the two highest ranked available contenders, and both boxers have confirmed their willingness to fight each other. The winner will receive the #1 ranking and the mandatory shot at Steve Cunningham's cruiserweight crown.

Ross fought Cunningham in a very competitive fight last June, where the champion went down in the fourth, but the fight was stopped in the fifth due to a cut suffered by Ross. An appeal was filed by Ross, who said the cut was initially opened up by the thumb of Cunningham's glove at the end of the fourth, but the IBF denied the application. Wilson has put together a string of wins, including a recent upset decision of Omar Sheika in April.
