MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Two weeks have passed since Austin Trout (26-1, 14KOs) lost a close twelve round unanimous decision to newly unified WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0, 30KOs). If Mayweather is able to overcome Robert "The Ghost' Guerrero on Saturday night, the anticipation would continue to build for a future showdown with Canelo.

"It would be a good matchup, it would be a good fight. Floyd is smart and he would do something that I should have done. I feel like Floyd would still beat him," Trout told BoxingScene.com.

Canelo weighed over 170-pounds on the night of his fight with Trout, and several seasoned trainers believe the Mexican star is simply too big for Mayweather, who always fights very close to his walking weight of around 150-pounds. Trout agrees.

"He is too big. I'm big at 154 and he was right up there with me. He was strong. He put me down for the first time, but I took a lot of his shots. He is strong, but he is not the next Mike Tyson or nothing [like that]," Trout said.
