The scene is set for tomorrow’s doubleheader, featuring super middleweights Maxim Vlasov and Khoren Gevor, as well as lightweights Alisher Rakhimov and Michal Dufek. These two pairs of fighters will conjointly constitute the main event of a small show, arranged by KP&GT Promotions in Troitsk, a small town on the southwestern outskirts of Moscow, known for its nuclear research facilities.

WBC #8 and WBO #15 Vlasov (23-1, 12 KOs) will risk his WBC Baltic title against slowly fading German/Armenian veteran Khoren Gevor (32-8, 17 KOs), formerly a four-time unsuccessful world title challenger. Gevor, 32, is just 2-5 in the last four years - while Vlasov, 26, hasn’t lost since his dubious decision loss to Isaac Chilemba in February 2011.

WBO #12 Alisher Rakhimov (24-1, 12 KOs), 35, is trying to rebound from his May close loss to Ji-Hoon Kim in the IBF semi-eliminator. The Uzbek faces tough Czech Michal Dufek (9-1-1, 6 KOs), who just went the distance with former WBC super featherweight champion Vitaliy Tajbert. A vacant WBC Baltic title will be up for grabs.

Tonight, all four fighters successfully tipped the scales for their contracted weights: Vlasov – 165.8 against Gevor – 169.8; both Rakhimov and Dufek weighed-in at 134.2.

The undercard of the show will see four more bouts. One is of special note, as light heavyweight Ilshat Khusnulgatin (5-0, 3 KOs) will clash against Sergey Akimov (0-2) in a six-rounder. Akimov is a full-time Orthodox priest.

Other fights:

Olexiy Mazikin (17-7-2, 4 KOs) vs TBA – 6 rounds, heavyweight;

Aik Shakhnazaryan (1-0) vs Dmitry Lavrinenko (1-3) – 4 rounds, light welterweight;

Bahruz Kazimov (debut) – Akhmed Dzaurov (0-1) – 4 rounds, welterweight.

The show starts at “Quantum” palace of sports at 6 PM LT and will be televised by Russia 2 channel.
