Tommy Coyle is out of his next fight.

The super-lightweight, who is a former British title challenger, had been set to participate in a crossroads clash against John Wayne Hibbert next weekend, live on Sky Sports.

Coyle lost to Tyrone Nurse in July and was set to return with the former WBC Silver title challenger (17-4, 11 KOs) in the opposite corner on November 26 at Wembley’s SSE Arena.

But the Hull man (22-4, 10 KOs) has been forced to withdraw from his next clash through reasons his manager, Steve Wood, described to Boxing Scene as “private”.

A formal announcement, from show promoter Eddie Hearn, regarding the collapse of the must-win showdown has yet to be made, though Carl Greaves –– Hibbert’s manager –– has said on social media that the name of a replacement will be made public soon.

“Unfortunately Tommy Coyle has had to pull out [of his fight] against [John Wayne Hibbert],” Greaves tweeted on Thursday afternoon.

“An announcement will be made very soon on who Wayne will be boxing.”

The card, which is billed ‘Big City Dreams’, is still stellar and features the professional debut of Irish amateur sensation Katie Taylor, the return of former IBF flyweight world title challenger Charlie Edwards and Martin J Ward’s first defence of the British super-featherweight crown against Ronnie Clark of Dundee.

Ted Cheeseman faces Lloyd Ellett in an eliminator for the English super-welterweight title and Danny Dignum makes his professional bow on a card which plays host to Ohara Davies’ challenge of ex-Hibbert foe Andrea Scarpa of Italy for the WBC Silver super-lightweight belt and Ben Hall’s meeting with Carson Jones for the vacant WBC International Silver super-welterweight title.

Meanwhile, Reece Bellotti meets Ian Bailey in an English featherweight title eliminator, while Jack Healy features and there is action for Conor Benn, Jake Ball, Felix Cash and Craig Richards.
