Tommy Coyle will face a different opponent when he returns to the ring later this week.

The former British super-lightweight title challenger, who has been out of action since losing to Tyrone Nurse last July, will make his comeback on Saturday at Hull’s Ice Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

Coyle (22-4, 10 KOs) will box over 10 rounds, as part of the supporting cast to Gavin McDonnell’s showdown against Rey Vargas for the vacant WBC super-bantamweight world title.

But the 27-year-old will come up against a different opponent than the one first set after an undisclosed issue ruled Kofi Yates out of the contest.

Yates (14-2, 1 KO) has now been replaced by Rakeem Noble, the Southern Area champion who has a record of 11-1 with five early endings.

The news of the opponent switch was revealed by Noble, 27, in a video posted on YouTube by Fight Talk.

“Finally, I can let the world know,” Noble said, “it’s been bugging me for a couple of weeks now that I can’t tell everyone this big fight that I’m training for but it’s official [and] on February 25 at the Ice Arena in Hull I’ll be fighting Tommy Coyle.

“For me, this is my opportunity, my time to shine. This is the point in the career where you can look back and say ‘That was the turning point’, which it hopefully will be and I’ll become a star overnight.

“I’m all game and I’m all ready for this fight.”

Elsewhere on the card, Luke Campbell provides the chief support as he makes the second defence of his WBC Silver lightweight crown against Jairo Lopez.

British bantamweight champion Ryan Burnett returns over eight rounds and there is action for Jacob Wooley, Conisbrough heavyweight David Allen, Dec Spelman, Carl Chadwick and Connor Seymour.
