Lodz, Poland - Former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (50-4, 30KOs) returned for the first time since last year's decision loss to Artur Szpilka, and gained a fifth round TKO win when countryman Przemyslaw Saleta (44-8, 22KOs) quit on his stool and refused to come out.

Adamek controlled the bulk of the fight, being aggressive early, outboxing the older fighter and maneuvering him around quite easily. Saleta had not fought since a February 2013 knockout win over Andrew Golota - and going into that fight he was coming off a seven year layoff.

In an upset, Polish heavyweight Marcin Rekowski (16-2, 13 KOs) was stopped by gatekeeper Nagy Aguilera (20-9, 14 KOs) with seconds left in round ten of a huge war.

Rekowski started furiously but was decked with a right hook at the end of round one. He regrouped in round three and delivered heat to Aguilera in the midst of the fight. Later on the Dominican was on the brink of defeat while being pressed hardly by Rekowski but he always retaliated, and the last one - a right hook to the chin - ensured his come-from-behind knockout win.

In a hotly contested war between two fighting Ewa's, Ewa Brodnicka came off the floor after a major left hook by Ews Piatkowska in round one to outbox her opponent in majority of the rounds to get a spirited split decision victory over eight rounds. Piatkowska looked more promising but also raw and relied well to much on one solid punch that has never come. Brodnicka improves to 9-0, with 2 KOs, while Piatkowska is now 7-1, 4 KOs.

Polish light heavyweight contender Dariusz Sek (24-2-1, 8 KOs) had to work hard to get a one-sided but hotly contested win over Brazilian veteran Pedro Otas (29-3, 25 KOs) over ten rounds. Scores were 100-90 across the boards.

Otas did his best not only to stay in the fight but also to get some accolades. But on who was dishing out beating was Sek. He almost doubled his foe in the third with a left hook to the liver, then rocked him badly with a major right hook one round later and almost stopped in the ninth. Otas tried to land as much as he took and had limited success in the midst of the fight. There were no knockdowns.

Former WBA cruiserweight title challenger Shawn Cox (18-7, 17 KOs) was annihilated in one by rising Polish prospect Michal Cieslak (10-0, 6 KOs). It's always do-or-die for the Barbadian veteran, aged 40. In his previous eight fights, he was stopped five times (twice in Russia) and also scored three prompt knockouts - including those against former WBC champion Wayne Braithwaite and another WBA challenger Santander Silgado.

However this time Cox wasn't competitive at all. He engaged in a couple of exchanges - then took a major right hook from Cieslak to go crushing down. He got up but Cieslak didn't let him any breather effectively finishing him in just 77 seconds.

Light-hitting featherweight Kamil Szeremeta (12-0, 1 KOs) used his boxing abilities to outlast and outpoint always fit UK-based Gambian Patryck Mendy (16-9-1, 1 KO) in a battle of feather-fisted technicians. The fight wasn't one to watch but Szeremeta was sightly better than his opponent, finishing strong to get a unanimous decision with scores 78-74 (twice) and 79-73. Mendy was stopped just once in his career - by super middleweight prospect Callum Smith.

Fifteen years since the start of his career, 41-year old veteran super middleweight Tomasz Gargula (17-1-1, 5 KOs) suffered his first professional loss, being defeated in four rounds by Maciej Miszkin (18-3, 5 KOs). Gargula was fighting for the third time in 2015 following eleven years of inactivity.

Both combatants started it quickly, landing powerful right hands. However, power of Miszkin and age of Gargula began to take their toll in round two. By the third Gargula was heavily bleeding from his nose while Miszkin looked fresh. He geared on in the fourth, finally finding his target with a right cross / right uppercut combo, followed by more punches. The referee issued a count, and Gargula wasn't ready to continue despite his will to show it, being stopped in four.
