Kenshiro Teraji's upcoming vacant WBC flyweight title bout against Cristofer Rosales is scheduled for October 18 in Teraji's native Japan, according to ESPN's Salvador Rodriguez on the social media platform X. The specific venue has not yet been confirmed.

Teraji (23-1, 14 KO) won his 10th professional fight by defeating Ganigan Lopez. The 31-year-old has since defended his junior flyweight title 12 times. In 2021, Teraji suffered a knockout loss to Masamichi Yabuki but avenged it with a third-round knockout in early 2022. His most recent bout in January marked his final fight at junior flyweight, where he secured a majority decision over Carlos Canizales to defend his unified WBA and WBC titles. Teraji is known for his aggressive boxing style, prioritizing offense over defense.

Nicaragua's Rosales (37-6, 22 KO) previously held the WBC flyweight title in 2018 after knocking out undefeated Japanese fighter Daigo Higa. He defended it once against undefeated Paddy Barnes before losing to Charlie Edwards later that year. Rosales has fought 11 times in the past five years, notable losses include a ninth-round knockout to Julio Cesar Martinez and a unanimous decision loss to current IBF flyweight title challenger Angel Ayala. Ayala is set to face Dave Apolinario for the IBF flyweight title on Friday.
