Later tonight Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (37-0) will face Roamer Angulo (23-0) in an ESPN main event. Alex Saucedo takes on Lenny Zuppavigna in the televised co-feature in a super lightweight bout

There has been a lot of talk about Ramirez's future plans in the lead up to the fight as most insiders don’t give his unknown Colombian opponent much of a chance.

When asked about who he would like to see his fighter face next, Ramirez’s trainer Hector Zapari refused to look ahead.

“First things first.  We aren’t thinking of anything else besides beating Angulo. We will go to war and our attitude is that we will talk about who we want to fight next afterwards,” Zapari told BoxingScene.com.

“Zurdo has said many times that he wants to unify titles but first we need to get past Angulo.”

Zapari is a student of the game and knows that every year there are upsets in the sport.  The Sinaloa native wants to make sure that his fighter isn’t looking too far ahead because he knows a loss will derail their plans.

Potential unification fights would be against the likes of WBC champion David Benavidez, IBF champion James DeGale and WBA champion George Groves. Ramirez has mentioned in previous interviews on BoxingScene.com that he would like to fight any of them.

“We always like to take care of business before talking about the future. We have that rule because of our respect for boxing and our rival. We never underestimate anyone because there can always be a surprise and we are very focused on our job,” said Zapari.
