American Bank Center, Corpus Christi, Texas - Gabriel Campillo (21-4-1, 8KOs) survived two bad knockdowns in the first round and appeared to dominate the majority of the next eleven, but the two of the three official judges gave the decision to IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (24-0, 19KOs). The scores were 115-111 for Campillo, 114-112 and 116-110 for Cloud. The crowd and Showtime's ringside announcers was livid with the scores.

Campillo was dropped down hard with a big straight right hand in the second minute of the round. After Campillo beat the count, Cloud put together another series of punches to send him down for a second knockdown. Campillo survived until the bell.

But, Campillo pulled himself together and started outboxing Cloud in the second round. In the next couple of rounds, Campillo started working Cloud over and opened up a bad cut above the champion's left eye.

In the eight, Cloud was in a lot of trouble with Campillo punishing him against the ropes. Cloud punched his way out of trouble, but Campillo continued to punish him.

Cloud was having a lot of trouble with Campillo's southpaw style in the entire fight. In the eleventh round, Campillo was toying with Cloud and boxing his ears off. Campillo seemed to have the edge in the twelfth and Cloud looked like a beaten fighter.
