World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman has blasted boxing judge James Jen-kin for his shutout 120-106 scorecard in the title defense  of WBC super bantamweight champion Abner Mares against WBA bantamweight t champion Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last Saturday.

Sulaiman said Jen-Kin’s score was “a blasphemy to boxing” and once again blamed the United States Commissions for some of the problems.

He was also unhappy with the failure of referee Raul Caiz Jr who came under criticism in media for failure to penalize Mares for low blows while being quick to deduct a point from Moreno for pushing Mares' head down.

The WBC president claimed “the only problem in the nworld is the United States of America and very specially Nevada” where the Nevada State Athletic Commission insists on naming fight officials and not giving the different major  boxing organizations a chance to pick the officials for bouts these bodies sanction.

However, for championship bouts outside the US, organizations such as the WBC name the ring officials.

Sulaiman also noted that “promoters themselves can do very little” about the situation in the US.

He also indicated that when the WBC holds its Annual Convention in Cancun next month they would once again take up the issue and also discuss the instructions of referee Jay Nady to the judges in the Vanes Martirosyan- Erlislandy Lara  WBC light middleweight title eliminator to score the 9th round even though only 26 seconds had lapsed before the fight was stopped due to a nasty gash suffered by Martirosyan.
