WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19KOs) believes British mandatory challenger Tony Bellew (21-1, 12KOs) is scared of their fight, taking place on Saturday night in Quebec City, and because of that he says the Liverpool boxer took a cheap shot with his head as they went face to face at Friday's weigh-in.

Stevenson says Bellew head-butted him as they went face to face, and then the two boxers, and their camps, nearly brawled on stage. Both sides were held back and pulled apart as they traded harsh verbal insults before the fans and media members.

"The guy is desperate," Stevenson told RDS. "When I got to the face-to-face, he gave me a hit and I wanted to give him one back. I wanted to rip his head off but my team held me back. I know he's scared, he tries to hide his fear. I saw fear in his eyes. Nobody is going to come here to Canada and take my title. He's going back to Liverpool with a black eye and I'm going to knock him out. Believe me, Bellew is going down."
