Postponements of boxing events, a product of the coronavirus pandemic, continue to occur worldwide.

According to a report by AsianBoxing, the April 4 WP Boxing event, which was to be led by two-time WBC super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (47-5-1, 41 knockouts) battling the former IBF champion at flyweight, Amnat Ruenroeng (20-3, 6 knockouts), has been tentatively postponed until May 2, which is when WP Boxing would have been planning their next show.

However, the reality is that we suspect that it will be further delayed with cases in Thailand growing rapidly, with 50 cases confirmed today and more expected.

It's worth noting that this fight was expected to take place behind closed doors, and even now it's been decided that it's not enough.

Interestingly, Thailand was a country that seemed to react slowly to the coronavirus, despite being geographically so close to China and South Korea who were severely affected, and we suspect that the epidemic will likely force the suspension of boxing and other sports.

On the other hand, an event which was casually set for May 2, with an IBF/WBA light welterweight title world match between Josh Taylor (16-0, 12 knockouts) and Downua Ruawaiking (16-0, 13 knockouts), has already been postponed - with a new date yet to be announced
