Suriyan Sor Rungvisai's effort in becoming a two-division champion ended with a hard-fought 12-round points loss to Shinsuke Yamanaka last October.

He may not catch the unbeaten bantamweight champ in the ranks, but can sure as hell outpace him in ring activity. Friday afternoon in Thailand featured Sor Rungvisai in action for the eighth time since his failed title bid, needing just two rounds to dispatch overmatched Frans Damur Palue.

The local favorite was on the attack from the opening bell, typical of his fighting style, regardless of opposition. Palue—a journeyman from Indonesia—had no clue how to react or how to keep up with the former super flyweight champion.

In retrospect the quck ending was probably the best solution. Palue was felled by a body shot, putting him down and out for the fourth knockout loss of his career as he dips to 11-10-2 (6KOs).

As for Sor Rungvisai, the wins continue to pile up as he advances to 45-6-1 (23KOs).

In fairness, his post-title fight level of opposition has been mediocre. But rather that sit around and wait for another big fight that may or may not come, he chooses ring activity, not an unfamiliar concept to notable Thai fighters.

Friday's affair marked his eighth fight and win inside of nine months. Sor Rungvisai is 24-1 (15KOs) since losing his super flyweight title to Yota Sato in March '13, following a seven-month stay at the top.

The bout aired live on Channel 7 in Thailand, and also legally streamed live on the network's website.
