At the Mutoh Boxing Gym in the city of Osaka, a press conference was held to officially announce that former two-time WBA super flyweight champion Nobuo Nashiro (15-3-1, 9KOs) will travel to Bangkok, Thailand on November 4th to challenge WBC super flyweight champ Suriyan Sor Rungvisai (19-4-1, 7KOs). The Thai champion makes his first defense after dominated Tomas Rojas to win the belt in August. Rojas decisioned Nashiro in February.

Since losing a decision to Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in October 2010, the tough Thai fighter has maintaned a streak of 5 wins (3KOs). Japanese boxing is in a shameful situation when challenging for world title fights outside of Japan, with a 32-fight losing streak.

"I never thought I could have this opportunity again so soon. I am determined to put my entire soul and my physical strength into this fight. Sor Rungvisai is a powerful champion who managed to defeat Tomas Rojas. I will do everything I can in the ring to snatch the world title from him," Nashiro said.
