A riveting presser  in Tokyo, officially announcing  the return of the unbeaten Japanese southpaw WBC bantamweight world champion Shinsuke Yamanaka on March 2nd. He will be matched against Mexican contender Carlos Carlson in the twelfth defense of the WBC crown he conquered in 2011 in Tokyo by defeating Christian "Italian" Esquivel.

Carlson will enter the ring for this commitment with a record of 22 wins, 13 KO´s and 1 defeat.

Carlos was crowned NABF champion after beating countryman Alex Rangel last September in Ontario, California. He presents himself as an able opponent who wants to print the first ever defeat on this pristine Japanese record.

The match will be at the  Ryogoku Sumo Kokugikan (National Sports Arena) and it will be televised live for the entire country of Japan on the "World Premium Boxing" show in its 25th edition. The card is presented by Japanese promoter Akihiko Honda, who is the head of the Teiken Boxing Gym in Tokyo.

For Yamanaka, this will be the fourth time where he will stake his title against an Aztec fighter.

Yamanaka (26-0-2, 18 KOs) wants to make history, by matching and eventually breaking the Japanese defense record that is currently in the firm grasp of former world champion Yoko Gushiken with 13 defenses in 1981.

In his last ring appearance in September 2016, Yamanaka scored a spectacular TKO victory in the seventh round over Panamanian Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno. The fight was a war that saw the two of them get dropped to the canvas respectively. The fight was widely viewed as a thriller, and it was nominated as a candidate for "Best Fight of the Year" - and it even won that recognition on BoxingScene.com.
