BOXXER's Ben Shalom, promoter for WBO junior middleweight champion Natasha Jonas, has made a big offer to WBA, IBO champion Hannah Rankin.

Shalom would like to stage their unification on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, as part of the big card that already features two other unifications in women's boxing, with Claressa Shields colliding with Savannah Marshall and Mikaela Mayer facing Alycia Baumgardner.

"We put a huge offer into Hannah Rankin," Shalom told Sky Sports. "Whether they accept or not, I don't know but a six-figure offer to fight against Tasha Jonas. If they don't want it, they don't want it and we have to move on.

"It's a life-changing opportunity we felt. We offered her a six-figure opportunity to be on the biggest women's card of all-time at the O2, live on Sky Sports, with two fights win or lose returning on Sky.

"Tasha obviously wanted to fight in Liverpool, we understood Hannah maybe wouldn't want to fight in Liverpool for that fight and that's why we allowed it to go to London. The opportunity to fight for huge, huge money and a Sky contract as well - we can't do much more as a promoter."

If Rankin does not accept, then Jonas will defend her title on September 3 in Liverpool, as part of the card that features the return of former world champion Liam Smith as he takes on Hassan Mwakinyo.

"It's a shame because I think the package was incredible. We wanted to do the best by Tasha and the women's sport in general to make that fight. I think that fight makes sense, it's a unification, but if they don't want to make it, they don't want to. I just hope they don't live to regret that decision," Shalom said.

"It's a completely life-changing opportunity for both, probably for Hannah than it is for Tasha if I'm honest. That's where boxing can be frustrating," he added. "You only want fighters to accept things you think are good for them. You don't want to put fighters, whether it's your fighter or not, in a situation that you know isn't beneficial for their career. But when you know it is and when you've done everything to make sure it is, that's the frustrating part."
