Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, has informed BoxingScene.com that he is ready to finalize a deal for an HBO televised main event between WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12KOs) and WBC interim-beltholder Robert Guerrero (30-1-1, 18KOs). The fight would take place on December 15th on HBO.

Schaefer, who promotes Guerrero, was delighted when he  read an earlier article on BoxingScene  - where Bradley's manager, Cameron Dunkin, made it clear that neither he or his fighter were demanding a rematch clause. Guerrero's co-manager, Luis DeCubas Jr., had stated earlier that Bradley's side was demanding a rematch clause - and Guerrero's side will not agree to rematch clause.

"I'll be talking with HBO tomorrow. Assuming, as Cameron stated, they don't need a rematch clause - we are ready to go. It's a good fight and I'm happy to do it. It's champion vs. champion. I'm happy that Bradley doesn't need a rematch clause, we don't need a rematch clause either. There are no options, there is nothing. It's just a good fight and we are ready to go," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

Schaefer will speak with HBO tomorrow to hopefully finalize the financial figures and other details pertaining to the fight.

If Bradley-Guerrero comes together, it would showcase that Golden Boy and Top Rank, who promote Bradley, are willing to work with each other to make the right fights.

KHAN TO REMAIN AT 140-POUNDS

One of industry items being circulated is the possibility that Amir Khan (26-3, 18KOs) will make his return - also on December 15th - but on Showtime. Schaefer indicates that there are no finalized plans for Khan's return in the fall. But, the topic of Khan's return is one the subjects he plans to discuss with HBO.

The Golden CEO also made it clear that Khan is not moving up to the welterweight division - contrary to items being reported overseas.

"Amir decided that at this point he will stay at 140," Schaefer said.
