The top players at HBO are very pleased with last Saturday's junior middleweight contest between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Matthew "Magic" Hatton. Alvarez won the vacant WBC 154-pound title with a twelve round unanimous decision at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. While Alvarez was landing punches in the ring, he was also landing a lot of HBO viewers.

BoxingScene.com was advised that Alvarez-Hatton was the most watched "Boxing After Dark" main event in two years. The HBO audience of 1.4 million was the most for a "Boxing After Dark" main event since James Kirkland vs. Joel Julio, which delivered 1.4 million viewers on March 7, 2009.
