Cuba's Yoandris "El Niño" Salinas says he suffered a bad left hand injury during the midway point of his fight with World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg, which took place last Saturday at the O2 Arena in London. Nicaraguan Ricardo Rizzo, the business advisor for Dream Team, said Salinas suffered a tear in his left hand in the middle of the fight, which stopped him from using his left on a regular basis for the rest of the bout. In the end, two judges saw the fight 114-114 evern, while a third scored it 115-113 in favor of Quigg.

With this result, Quigg's record went to 26-0-2, with 19 knockouts, while Salinas went to 20-0-2, 13 knockouts.

Dream Team and Golden Boy Promotions, who co-promote Salinas, are going to petition the WBA for an immediate rematch. They are going to request a neutral location for the fight or they plan to take the discussion to a purse bid.
