Mandalay Bay, LAS VEGAS, NV - On March 1st, 2014 Orlando Salido handed rising superstar Vasyl Lomachenko his only career loss. The fight was very controversial.  Salido didn't make weight, losing his featherweight title on the scales and also landed several low blows throughout the contest that weren't penalized.

The fight was only the second professional fight in Lomachenko's career.  There has been a lot of talk of a rematch but so far both camps haven't been able to reach an agreement.

On Saturday night both men return to the ring.  Salido (44-13-4) faces rugged veteran Mickey Roman (57-12) in a HBO main event in Las Vegas while Lomachenko faces fellow two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux in an ESPN televised main event in New York.

Assuming both fighters emerge victorious, Salido says he has no problems giving Lomachenko a rematch.  He said that Lomachenko's promoter Bob Arum simply must meet his monetary demand and the sequel is a go.

"If everything goes well with the Roman fight and they pay me what I want then we can have a fight. Arum knows how much I need but he has never came close to what I want with his offer," Salido told BoxingScene.com.

While Salido is interested in the rematch, the 37-year-old knows that the bout is far more important for Lomachenko who is rated as a top three pound-for-pound fighter by most boxing outlets.

"He needs to avenge his loss to keep moving up because he keeps getting these supposedly big fights and the first thing they always ask him is what about Salido? I am worth more to him than he is to me," Salido stated.

The Salido-Roman fight is part of a HBO tripleheader featuring all super featherweight bouts. The telecast is rounded out with former champion Francisco Vargas (23-1-2) against Stephen Smith (25-3) and Tevin Farmer (25-4-1) facing Kenichi Ogawa for the vacant IBF title.
