Russian promoter Kirill Pchelnikov, who handles such fighters as top heavyweight Czar Glazkov, says former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. needs to walk away from the ring before he suffers serious damage.

On Saturday night in Moscow, Jones was brutally knocked out in four rounds by former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli.

Pchelnikov says the loss was very predictable and he expected the British boxer to knock Jones out.

Jones, 46-years-old, has yet to make a decision regarding the future of his career, but many fear that he'll continue to fight.

"It was predictable, something happened that should have happened," said Pchelnikov. "Roy Jones, with the condition that he's in at the moment, its better if he would be gone [from the ring]. He does not have to box - better to just let him sing and dance. He needs to retire and let other cherish him, remember how he was a good and talented boxer. He doesn't have to get in the ring anymore. What he had is a thing of the past, that was a long time ago."

"I did not build any illusions. Jones did not have any chance against Maccarinelli. - And the manner in which he was hurt, it was something that happened that should have happened. Miracles do not happen. Maccarinelli's boxing is always the same. He too is not the same as he was in the past and aged as a boxer. But to defeat Roy Jones, he has enough force and the right capabilities to do so."
