The featherweight title fight between Gary Russell Jr. and Oscar Escandon will have Russell Mora as its referee.

Mora was selected at Thursday’s meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission. Russell vs. Escandon is set to take place on Nov. 14 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Mora worked one of Russell’s fights early in the boxer’s career: a quick drubbing of Jason Jones in 2009. He isn’t listed on BoxRec.com as having worked any of Escandon’s fights.

The judges selected for the bout were Adalaide Byrd, Dave Moretti and Ricardo Ocasio.

The only one of those judges to have worked a Russell fight before is Ocasio, who was ringside for decision wins over Vyacheslav Gusev in 2013 and Eric Estrada in 2011.

None of the judges has worked an Escandon fight before.
