Deportivo Morelos, Cuajimalpa, Distrito Federal, Mexico - Roberto Ortiz (30-0-1, 23KOs) won a tough twelve round unanimous decision over Reyes Sanchez (24-6-2, 14KOs) to retain his WBC Silver light welterweight title. The scores were 115-112, 114-112 and 114-112. The boxers had it exciting with plenty of exchanges. Sanchez was dropped in the second, but Ortiz lost a point in the tenth after a clash of heads opened a cut over the left eye of Sanchez.

WBC International silver super flyweight champion Ivan Morales (23-0, 13KOs) barely stayed undefeated with a close ten round unanimous decision over a very game Cesar Javier Gandara (22-4, 9KOs). All three judges scored it 95-94. Morales started off slow and appeared to have Gandara ready to go in the fourth, but then Gandara staged a rally down the stretch and hurt Morales several times.

Christian 'Machito' Camacho, the son of Hector "Macho" Camacho, suffered a loss in his pro debut. He was dropped in the first round, never full recovered and went on to lose a four round decision to Mexico's Enrique Angeles (1-0).
