Oklahoma.- World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight world title challenger Roamer Alexis Angulo knows that the eyes and attention of his countrymen are not precisely focused on his crucial commitment this Saturday night, but with or without their support he claims to be ready to give Colombia a new world champion.

Aware that Colombia is watching what their soccer team is doing in the world championship in Russia, Angulo believes, however, that his performance will bring forth an even better performance than the popular team being run by Argentinean coach Nestor Pekerman.

"I would like for my country to know they have another sport beyond soccer on Saturday, and with or without the fans we hope to give Colombia the result it deserves," said Angulo.

Regarding his fight with undefeated WBO 168-pound world champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez, Angulo said he is going to face him with in good physical condition, with a lot of faith and hope to leave the ring with good results and with the WBO crown.

The challenger recognizes that he's arriving to the most important battle of his life, and he enters the ring with a perfect record of 23-0, 20 KOs.

"Mexico's Ramirez (37-0, 25 KOs) is a great fighter. He is the world champion for a reason and for me it will be an honor to face him and defeat him," Angulo stated.

"We are arriving to this fight with the necessary skills and we will go out to do the work and win - although it will not be easy."

Angulo has been in Oklahoma since last Tuesday, accompanied by his head trainer Pedro Díaz and the entire A & T team.

Diaz believes his fighters is more than ready to fight for his first world championship, before a potentially hostile crowd at the Cheapeake Energy Arena.
