Freddie Roach, trainer of WBA/IBF champion Amir Khan, is looking past a possible fight with WBO champion Timothy Bradley. He says Bradley had his chance to fight Khan and now the opportunity has passed. He says Bradley overlooked their offer because he's trying land a fight with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who Roach also trains.

"Tim Bradley is all talk he didn’t sign the contract and now he’s in a lawsuit. We’re way ahead of him at this point. It would be a good fight, Bradley is a tough guy but he wants to fight Manny Pacquiao now. There are steps to getting a fight with Pacquiao and Amir Khan would be one of those steps – in my mind at least, but not in his," Roach told Boxing Futures.

Roach agrees with the career plan which Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer was layed out last week on BoxingScene.com. He says Khan should fight the Erik Morales-Lucas Matthysse winner in a December 10 unification, then return for a possible welterweight debut in March, and then fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the end of 2012.

"Well just like Schaefer, Matthysse and Morales are fighting for the vacant WBC title now so I’d like to unify the belts and get the winner of that possibly and then one more fight at 140-pounds, and then I’d like to see him fight Mayweather," Roach said.
