Top Rank is planning to approach Showtime next week to discuss a possible doubleheader in Puerto Rico, with two big rematches. Juan Manuel Lopez would face WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido for a second time, and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr would attempt to get reveng on WBO super bantamweight champion Jorge Arce. Both Lopez and Vazquez lost their unbeaten records and their titles to their Mexican rivals, Salido and Arce.

Promoter Peter Rivera of Puerto Rico Best Boxing, who co-promotes Lopez and helps All Star Boxing/Top Rank with Vazquez, loves the idea of the doubleheader but says there needs to be some careful planning for the date. Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, advised Rivera that a date needs careful selection.

Rivera says the month of October is out but a date in November is possible. November is already getting loaded with shows and they need to select a date that fits.

"Bob Arum is talking to Showtime next week. Depending on what they say (Showtime), then we will see what available dates are out there and begin the negotiations," Rivera told Alex Figueroa. "What's on  November 5? First we have to do several things, such as obtaining the availability of arenas. A lot [of details] are missing. Right now it's just something Bob Arum is interested in. Let's see what happens. Of course, if it happens, it would be perhaps one of the most brutal events that's been seen here. It would be two separate fights that would fill any arena."
