WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21 KOs) is ready for action on Saturday night. He defends his title against British boxer John Murray (31-1, 18 KOs) on the undercard of the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito pay-per-view at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Murray returns from an eighth-round technical knockout loss against fellow Brit Kevin Mitchell (32-1, 24 KOs) on July 16 in Liverpool. Rios watched film on Murray, in particular his loss to Mitchell. He mistakes in Murray's style and plans to exploit those shortcomings on Saturday.

"I did watch Murray's last fight with Kevin Mitchell. I did watch the mistakes that he did in that fight. I watched his last two fights before Kevin Mitchell I think. I saw the mistakes that he does and I'm going to counter off of it. I watched it once or twice to see what I'm up against. Robert [Garcia] watched most it. He better be mentally and physically ready, because if he's not it's going to be an early night for him," Rios said.
