Promoter and former champion Ricky Hatton is confident in middleweight Martin Murray's ability to overcome the power and experience of WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KOs). While some rate him high in the domestic circles, Murray (23-0, 10 KOs) is a massive underdog in the fight, which is scheduled for December 2 at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany.

“I believe he can do the job. He can win. Martin has no miles on his clock. He has a few gears to go up. I think he can go over there and win," Hatton told Sky Sports Ringside.

Most pundits view Murray's inexperience as the biggest hurdle to overcome. Sturm has fought the likes of Matthew Macklin, Oscar De La Hoya, Sebastian Sylvester, Javier Castillejo and countless others, while Murray's biggest name credits are either B-level contenders or domestic showcases.

Martin is not letting Sturm's experience intimidate him. He vowed not to repeat the same mistakes of Sturm's last opponent, Matthew Macklin.

"I’m not going to do anything that Matthew Macklin did,” Murray said. “On the night it will be doing the stuff me and Oliver (Harrison, trainer) have worked on. I’m not Matthew Macklin, I’m Martin Murray and will do what I do best.”
