Ryan Rhodes has vowed to expose Saul Alvarez's defensive flaws in this weekend's world title fight.

Alvarez is considered the hottest property in boxing and will start as a red hot favourite to retain his WBC light-middleweight title on Saturday in his hometown of Guadalajara.

But veteran Sheffield southpaw Rhodes insists he has spotted a few chinks in the Mexican sensation's armour and is confident he can pull off a memorable upset win.

"Alvarez boxes as though he wants to take your head off. He throws combinations well and works well inside," Rhodes told The Star.

"But he comes at you in straight lines, which will work in my favour, because he is there to be hit. When he throws his punches he leaves himself wide open.

"He has a good work rate and wears people down. I am 34 and recognise I'm boxing the hottest prospect in world boxing, someone Oscar De La Hoya rates as the next superstar.

"I am going into the lion's den and I wouldn't have it any other way!"
