BoxingScene.com has been advised that Cristian Mijares is vacating the IBF super flyweight title because the boxer is no longer capable of making weight. Mijares will move back up to the bantamweight division. Raul Martinez (28-1, 16KOs), who is Mijares' mandatory challenger, is reportedly going to face Rodrigo Guerrero (15-3-1, 10KOs) for the vacant title.

Martinez won a close, and some say controversial, twelve round split decision over Guerrero last November to earn the shot at Mijares, and had the fight scheduled, but suffered a cut in training and was forced to withdraw.
