Ramon "Principe" Garcia beat one Hernandez to get to another, as a knockout win on Saturday night earned him a mandatory title shot at a 108 lb. title later this year.

The former titlist emerged back into the championship picture with an 8th round stoppage of Juan Hernandez in their Televisa-televised 108 lb. title elimination bout in Leon, Mexico. Garcia scored two knockdowns, the second prompting the stoppage at 2:16 of round eight.

With the win, Garcia is next line for a crack at the WBC junior flyweight belt. Its claimant, two-time titlist Adrian Hernandez is in line for an optional defense next month in Mexico, and with a win will most likely face Garcia later this year.
