Former two division champion Rafael Marquez (40-6, 36KOs) sat ringside when Toshiaki Nishioka (38-4-3, 24KOs) knocked out Mexico's Jhonny Gonzalez in three rounds at Arena Monterrey in 2009. Marquez noticed a few qualities about the boxer, but the main thing he noticed is what Marquez feels is Nishioka's inability to take a good punch. Marquez wants to test the chin of Nishioka in the early rounds of action, as the Mexican boxer will attempt to capture the WBC super bantamweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"I saw the fight when Nishioka fought Jhonny Gonzalez. I saw tapes of a few others. He's a good a fighter, but I don't think he has a good chin. I don't think he'll be able to take my power punches. I'm going out there to make him fight, I hope to get the knockout and the title will return with me to Mexico," Marquez told BoxingScene.com.
