Middleweight Radmir Akhmediyev (6-0, 6 KOs) kept his perfect record in tact by scoring a second-round TKO over Antron Pearson (2-5, 1 KO) but not before looking a tad vulnerable, if not amateurish, in the opening frame. Akhmediyev, 24, spent much of the first round winging telegraphed shots, missing and running into counter punches.

But once he settled down in the second round, the Kazakh fighter began landing hard, debilitating shots upstairs and down.  A crushing right to the head and a follow-up barrage rendered Pearson almost out on his feet against the ropes, prompting the referee to step in an call a halt at 1:11 of the second round.

The bout, held at the Bayou City Events Center in Houston, was staged by Savarese Boxing Promotions.

Junior welterweight David Limerick (4-0, 3 KOs) made short work of Ronald Nowden (0-2) with a first-round TKO. Squat, compact and built like a tank, Limerick cornered Nowden and pounded away with left hooks and right uppercuts forcing the referee to spare Nowden from further punishment.

Junior featherweights Armando Frausto (4-0, 3 KOs) and southpaw Lavale Wilson (1-6) engaged in a spirited scrap fought at a skill level much higher than their records would suggest. It was educated trench warfare for four rounds that saw both fighters rattle off fluid combinations and intuitive counters. Sharper and busier throughout, Frausto was rewarded with a hard-earned decision victory.

Krystian Dzienski (2-0, 1 KO), a six-foot-five heavyweight from Gdansk, Poland, utilized his superior size and reach to stop William Durham (0-3) in the second round. Dzienski, 26, landed a series of unanswered straight punches in the second round, and although Durham did not seem particularly hurt, the writing was on the wall and the referee stepped in to end the fight. Dzienski is managed by former light heavyweight world titleholder Donny Lalonde.
