Peter Quillin and Gabriel Rosado jawed at each other during the stare down that traditionally follows fighters stepping on the scales. Their trash talk continued afterward during interviews with Showtime’s Steve Farhood.

First before the camera was the challenger, Gabriel Rosado, who came in at 160 pounds.

“We gonna talk in the ring. My hands are going to do the talking,” Rosado said. “It ain’t going 12 rounds, I can guarantee that. He’s going to be on his ass.”

Quillin, who was 159.25 pounds, soon got to retort:

“In the street, I’d beat up a sucker and get arrested for it. This time I can beat up a sucker and get paid for it. … He said it’s not going to go 12 rounds. I can expect him getting his ass knocked out.”

Quillin, 30, of Brooklyn, N.Y., is 29-0 with 21 KOs, with his last three victories coming against Winky Wright in June 2012, Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam in October 2012 and Fernando Guerrero this past April. The N’Jikam win earned Quillin the World Boxing Organization middleweight title.

Rosado, 27, of Philadelphia, is a former junior middleweight prospect who has spent his 2013 fighting at 160. In January, he lost a technical knockout to titleholder Gennady Golovkin. In May, he came up short in a disputed split decision against prospect J’Leon Love, though that result was overturned after Love tested positive for a banned diuretic. Rosado is 21-6 with 13 KOs and 1 no contest.
