Edgar Puerta from Sinaloa, could be fighting for the WBC super featherweight championship, which is in the grasp of Japanese fighter Takashi Miura - if a deal can be struck. Being first ranked by the WBC in the super featherweight division, Puerta hopes to get the negotiations finished up as soon as possible. His promoters, Promociones del Pueblo, are conducting those discussions with Akihiko Honda, head of Teiken Promotions, the company that manages Miura´s career.

Irrespective,  Puerta is already in full training with capturing the full title in mind. Puerta has a record with 23 victories, 19 of these by knockout,  4 losses and 1 draw. He's the WBC's silver champion at the weight.
