Former super lightweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov wasn't very impressed with this past Saturday's mega-fight that Floyd Mayweather won via unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao. Provodnikov said that he knows Mayweather has a safety first style but had high hopes for a more exciting fight.

"Before the fight I actually thought it was going to be the 'Fight of the Century' - something exciting. But afterwards it wasn't that exciting to watch. I already knew going to a fight involving Mayweather you don't expect a lot of excitement and I think any exciting moments in the fight were coming from Manny anyway.," Provodnikov explained.

As for his future plans, the fighter known as the Siberian Rocky said that his preference is a rematch against Lucas Matthysse. Provodnikov lost a close decision to Matthysse on April 18th in a fight that is an early candidate for 2015 Fight of the Year.

Provodnikov has reviewed the fight and believes he can make the necessary adjustments to win the rematch if it is to occur.

"It is my priority," Provodnikov told BoxingScene.com when asked about a rematch. "I think that is the fight the fans want to see. If the rematch was to happen there are certain things that we can do to make the fight even more exciting for the fans. Right now I don't want to say too much because we don't know if it will happen but I know the mistakes I made in the first fight that I can make improvements on."
